 Scottish Association for Country Sports

The Scottish Association for Country Sports (SACS) has been involved with the National Countrysports Fair for a decade and has designated the fair as its Membership Event for Northern Ireland.  The Association's work in Northern Ireland extends to the major areas of country sports in the Province where it is represented on the main Governmental bodies.

The SACS stand at the fair is the meeting point for the Associations members in Northern Ireland and is bristling with activities and displays that are of interest to not just members but the public at large.  The Northern Ireland Stick Makers' Club will have an interactive demonstration in the SACS marquee which will culminate in that club's annual awards for the best sticks in a number of categories.

BADA & SACS
The Borreliosis and Associated Diseases Awareness organisation (BADA) which dedicates itself to the awareness of Lyme Disease which is caused by tick bites, will be present on the SACS stand to provide information on this deadly disease and the preventative measures people using the countryside for recreation can take to reduce the risk of infection.

SACS Membership Team at the Fair
It goes without saying that an organisation with its roots in Scotland has its resident piper.  This year teenager and Champion piper, Ross Forrest, will entertain visitors to the fair with the skirl of the pipes.

SACS Director, Ian Clark and his game fair team will be on hand to provide membership information.  SACS are offering 25% discount on the entry price to the National Countrysports Fair for its members through a pre-purchased ticket.  These can be had from the SACS HQ.

The Down Field Target Club, which is a SACS affiliated club. will stage the field target air rifle shoot at the fair.  This is open to everyone for a small entry fee which will go directly into the club's development programme.

More information on SACS and its membership benefits can be had by contacting the Association at iclark@netherholm.sol.co.uk
