Falconry Display
The 2008 National Countrysports Fair can boast of the best Falconry
Village ever seen in Ireland. The head of Perthshire based,
Phoenix Falconry Services, Adrian Hallgarth, said that the National
Countrysports Fair is now the leader in this genre on the island of
Ireland and possibly even on the UK mainland. The Falconry Village
at the 2008 event will be bigger and better and feature some of the
world's rarest birds of prey.

The
Falconry Village with its mews and trade and retail outlets was voted
the top attraction at the 2007 National Countrysports Fair according to
an independent survey of 2,019 visitors to the event. Once again this
award winning attraction will be
centre stage at the 2008 National Countrysports Fair with an
interactive display being staged twice each day in the game fair's main
arena. The Falconry Village will be manned by the Phoenix Falconry
Centre's staff and will feature over twenty native and foreign birds.
Ranging from the tiny kestrel to the great American bald eagle, the
birds of prey on show are spectacular and something not seen at any other
event in Ireland.
Complementing the
extensive display from Phoenix Falconry Centre will be a number of GB
based exhibitors offering a range of falconry related equipment. Telemetry, falcon stands, hoods, jesses, gauntlets bags and a wide
selection of ancillary falconry equipment can be found here. Visit
too the stand of the Irish Hawking Club who have their roots firmly based in Irish soil.
